Cross Country Ski Tour

Duration: approximately 2 hours
Meet at Dac Rowe fields for an exploration of Waterbury by ski. The exact course will be determined by conditions and imagination on Saturday morning. At a minimum we will ski across Winooski St, follow the river behind the state complex and wind our way out behind the ice center. The tour will be mostly flat and accessible to all levels of skiers - some sections will be ungroomed. The tour will last about 2 hours.
Snowshoe Tour & Demo
Time: Saturday January 19th, 10 a.m. Guided Tour; 11-2 p.m. Self-Guided ToursLocation: Start at Dac Rowe Fields
Duration: 1 hour
Join other adventurous souls for a guided meander along the Winooski, no experience necessary. Bring your snowshoes or come a little early to borrow a pair. Kids Snowshoe Races

Mountain Challenge with the Vermont National Guard - Snowshoe Obstacle Course Race

Bill Koch League Race

Course is groomed, fast, and in great shape. Windy turns, straight aways and a nice downhill for the older kids should make for a very fun race. Great for spectators as almost the entire course is viewable from a single vantage point.

1st Annual Waterbury Winterfest "As the Village Turns. . " The course, developed by veteran village marathoner Pam Clapp, includes 14 Challenging Left Turns and 11 Easy Right Turns throughout Waterbury Village, starting and finishing at Thatcher Brook Primary School. The course is pretty much exactly 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) long, offering intimate views of a New England village restored after a devastating flood, freeze-dried and posted for easy running, and should take anywhere from 18 to 45 minutes to complete on fairly level terrain. Start time is 9 am sharp this Sunday morning. Interested parties can download the registration and map or just show up at Thatcher Brook Primary School at 47 Stowe St. in Waterbury Village just off Exit 10 between 8:15 and 8:50. A crack timing crew will record times, and refreshments, prizes and worldwide accolades will be provided.

Half Baked Rail Jam

The Half Baked Rail Jam will be Sunday 1/27 at Sugarbush. Registration is 9-11am and the Jam kicks off at noon. Lots of cool giveaways and prizes including $500 cash. Spectators will be eligible for giveaways as well. More info to follow.
